Clwb Saethu
Clai Llansawel was formed in 2003 from a group of clay pigeon shooting enthusiasts, who were more interested in the actual
enjoyment of shooting than taking part in competitive shooting. For this reason, the club’s constitution states
that we shall engage in non competitive English sporting clay pigeon shooting.
We were fortunate to have been offered land at
Beili Ficer farm and the club’s first shoot was held in May 2003. Local support was tremendous and our first year’s
membership was almost 80, a good deal of who were not shooters but well wishers who wanted to help get the club started. Since
then our membership has not fallen below 50.
The club shoots on the first Saturday of every month throughout the year.
From our beginnings with just three or four manually operated traps, the club can now offer shoots of
up to 70 birds, all from fully automatic electrically operated traps.
Whether you are a seasoned shooter or novice, the welcome is the same. Interested? Contact the secretary
for further details.
