BOOKING IN TIMES
From this year, there will be
a slight change in booking in times. This should not affect members, but will give the committee member doing the booking
in a proper chance to have a shoot himself.
During the summer period when
shoots are held between 1pm and 4pm, the last entry will be at 3pm. Shooting will obviously still continue until 4pm.
During the winter period when
shoots are held between 12md. And 3pm, the last entry will be at 2pm. Shooting continuing until 3pm.
THREE CARD
COMPETITION
Last year was the first year that
we successfully held the three card competition, which was won by Brian Dumbarton with Simon Fenemore as runner up.
This is just a bit of fun really,
and works like this.
Over the period of the year, there
are twelve shoots. The Charity shoot and the Four Man Team shoot do not count, so that leaves ten shoots.
If at one of those ten shoots
you feel that you have made a pretty reasonable score, you can submit your card and ask for your score to count. Don’t
be put off if your score isn’t world beating on that day, as other shooters may also have had a bad day.
You need to do this on three of
the ten shoots. The card must be submitted on the day of the shoot, so a bit of tactics come into play here. You
may think perhaps, that you will get a better score at the next shoot and submit the next one, or whenever.
It doesn’t matter if we
have a 30, 40 or 50 bird shoot, as it’s all worked out on percentages. Also, just because someone won last year,
doesn’t mean you don’t stand a chance, as previous winners will be handicapped. Last years winner will be
handicapped by 3 on each of their submissions. The second place holder by 2 on each of their submissions etc.
You may as well give it a try;
there are three places to try for!
Good luck and good shooting
